Frankie works principally as an animal portrait artist with extensive experience in equine and canine subjects although the occasional cat or bird does show up. Take a look at the examples of her portrait commissions by clicking here or the "Animal Portraits" button above. You will find a number of prominent Thoroughbred stallions in addition to a collection of nationally known show horses and dogs. Her works are executed in both traditional oils on Belgian linen or graphite on paper.
As a diversion from the portrait work, Frankie occasionally does scenic pieces such as the recently completed Assateague mare scene. She also enjoys portraying working dogs such as the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, the foxhunting hounds, and Jack Russell and other terriers.
The painting to the right is a large piece (48" x 36") depicting Frankie's husband, C. Thompson Pardoe, MFH Goshen Hounds. It was presented to Tom on his 70th birthday and shows him leading the field over a typical Maryland hunting coop.
Frankie also has a variety of signed and numbered limited edition prints pertaining to wildlife and fox hunting. Well known for her accuracy and attention to detail, we hope you enjoy her graphite prints as much as those reproduced from her oils. She keeps her editions small, and several are in very limited supply.
Need a small gift or picture for a tucked away place? Click Small Prints under the "Limited Edition Print" button. At that location you will find a wide variety of prints with most editions limited to only 50, each signed, numbered, double matted to a finished size of 11" x 14", and ready for framing.
Many of her works also have been produced as note cards. These boxed cards make great hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, and are handy for that quick note or invitation you want to send.
