Animal Portraits

.

marvin

Frankie provides complete animal portraiture for the discriminating client.  When possible, the subject animal is photographed in its home setting.  Equine and canine portraits are executed in the classic realist tradition.  Using the finest quality oil paint and  working on a stretched Belgian linen ground, Frankie executes the work with frequent consultation with you, the client, to assure satisfaction with the delivered work.

Her first task is to "capture the eyes", feeling they are the window into the personality of the animal.  Following the photo session, Frankie will confer with you to determine exactly how the animal is to be portrayed.  She wants to learn your feelings about your animal, and what makes it unique. Is it the cock of an ear? Maybe a certain look in the eye or the gleam of its coat.  She asks that it be as well groomed as possible and wearing the tack or collar you wish it to be painted with during the photo session.

Goshen Hound

Equally proficient in equine and canine portraiture, she enjoys the challenge of capturing show animals as well as beloved family pets.  Her portraits truly depict the individual animal, and the customer's satisfaction is guaranteed.

Depending upon Frankie's schedule, please allow five to six months delivery.  The pricing table shown on each link will give you information on available sizes and costs.

Truffles

Portraits may also be executed in a graphite medium.  These are done with the same painstaking attention to realistic detail.  They are done on high quality acid free paper and may be matted and framed to suit the client.

Custom framing is available with your favorite animal’s name engraved on a brass nameplate.
